Meet Your Captain Michael Tilmann

For most of his life, Captain Michael Tilmann has worked on the Great Lakes, especially Lake Michigan. Through his devoted fishing experiences he has developed a sense of how to find the many species of fish, but Michael has the ability to make the charter fishing experience memorable no matter what the fishing conditions are like. His experience with Lake Michigan and the Big Manistee River will ensure you have a safe and exciting fishing adventure. Captain Michael brings enthusiasm to his job. Michael started out in the charter business as a first mate. From then on gained his charter captains license passing all requirements to become a Great Lakes Captain.

Michael went to the University of Michigan, he played on the Michigan Football Team and went to two Rose Bowls. He then went on to guide fishing trips in Alaska before moving back to Manistee. In recent years Michael has spent time videotaping hunting and fishing shows for the Outdoor Channel. Michael teaches school in Manistee when he is not out on the lake fishing or filming. Michael has owned his fishing business for over 15 years and has become a premier Captain in the area. Captain Michael uses his knowledge and experience of Lake Michigan and the Big Manistee to captain his 36′ Tierra boat and river boats to the deepest fishing holes that only those born and raised near these waters know how to experience. The Captain is thrilled when he teaches his customers to catch fish. Fishing is a thrill that you never take for granted.

What We Offer

Offering Charter Fishing in all seasons. In Spring and Summer we go out in Lake Michigan fishing for Steelhead, King, Coho Salmon, Lake  and Brown Trout. Fall and Winter we fishi in the Manistee River for Steelhead and King Salmon.
